Project Description

SUBS Construction delivered an in-situ reinforced concrete tank and oil-containment system upgrade at the Port Hacking substation.

The site included heritage considerations, asbestos-impacted soil and operational electrical equipment. Detailed construction planning, environmental controls and high-voltage safety procedures were implemented throughout the works.
Construction of an in-situ reinforced concrete tank and associated pipework as part of an operational substation oil-containment upgrade.

Scope of Works

  • Removal of existing redundant services

  • Excavation for the new containment structure

  • Construction of an in-situ reinforced concrete tank

  • Formwork, reinforcement and concrete placement

  • Installation of permanent access handrails

  • Installation of ventilation pipework

  • Installation of pipe connections and valves

  • Management of asbestos-impacted ground conditions

  • Coordination of works within a live electrical substation
